        • "Emerging from Within" is a historical look into the untold stories and life histories of several of KSU's diversity advocates. Theproject aims to generate greater understanding of diversity and inclusion at KSU and to archive the efforts of faculty and staffover time. Some of the featured individuals have retired from the University, others continue to play a central role in making KSUa premier diverse institution. A total of 14 individuals participated in the project. Each person has a unique history and hasovercome obstacles to be part of a growing University in an ever-changing society.Their contributions range from speaking outagainst acts of exclusion and injustice, supporting others through both small and large deeds, establishing programs to meet theneeds of KSU's diverse body, and building bridges between KSU and surrounding marginalized communities. With humility andgrace, these individuals have shared the stories, experiences, and teachings that contributed to their identity and advocacy

            • All KSU Advising Centers on both campuses will provide a series of handouts and discussions in their respective offices during Creed Week. Advisors will (as part of the advising appointment) share the tenets of the Creed, and how students can strive for personal and academic excellence through research, scholarship, and other opportunities. Each center will share statistics on the achievements of students, as well as the numbers of students served by the advising community and other KSU Support Services (Writing Center, SMART/ SI, etc).

              • This interactive workshop presents thoughtfulness and civility beginning with everyday, easy to digest topics. The activity utilizes a couple dozen incidents of incivility that the group must together put in order from least uncivil to most uncivil, demonstrating individual differences of perception and personal impact of the actions/incidents.

                • Students will learn about issues that can arise during a job interview and will strategize positive solutions. Students will be presented with scenarios related to interview attire, illegal interview questions (and legal, but challenging interview questions), and salary negotiations. Students will then develop positive ways to manage these scenarios in this activity-based workshop.

                  • A “new year", open house, “progressive meal” event for all KSU students. Student Assistants from the Marietta Student Affairs Suite have worked collaboratively to plan and implement this event for the KSU community! This “sweet” event is designed to provide opportunities for students to experience an awareness of all of the professionals and services provided in the ‘The Suiteʼ.  Students will experience diplomatic communication skills used for successful negotiations and the nurturing of unity in their lives during a “progressive” meal. Winners of a video artistic expression of the meaning of the word ‘unityʼ, will be announced at 3:00 PM.
