        • "Emerging from Within" is a historical look into the untold stories and life histories of several of KSU's diversity advocates. Theproject aims to generate greater understanding of diversity and inclusion at KSU and to archive the efforts of faculty and staffover time. Some of the featured individuals have retired from the University, others continue to play a central role in making KSUa premier diverse institution. A total of 14 individuals participated in the project. Each person has a unique history and hasovercome obstacles to be part of a growing University in an ever-changing society.Their contributions range from speaking outagainst acts of exclusion and injustice, supporting others through both small and large deeds, establishing programs to meet theneeds of KSU's diverse body, and building bridges between KSU and surrounding marginalized communities. With humility andgrace, these individuals have shared the stories, experiences, and teachings that contributed to their identity and advocacy

            • All KSU Advising Centers on both campuses will provide a series of handouts and discussions in their respective offices during Creed Week. Advisors will (as part of the advising appointment) share the tenets of the Creed, and how students can strive for personal and academic excellence through research, scholarship, and other opportunities. Each center will share statistics on the achievements of students, as well as the numbers of students served by the advising community and other KSU Support Services (Writing Center, SMART/ SI, etc).

                • Grit has been identified as a predictor of personal and professional success. It refers to being passionate in the pursuit of long-term goals, and there are a number of daily habits that you can cultivate in order to increase your Grit. Specifically, this presentation will teach strategies to (a) reduce fear of failure, (b) become achievement oriented, (c) think long-term, (d) increase resilience, and (e) pursue excellence.

                  • Adult and Commuter Student Affairs will be hosting an Open House event during Creed Week.  The ACSA Open House will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.   The event will highlight the high impact experiences and services offered by ACSA, specifically academic support in the form of tutoring and mentoring services facilitated by Odyssey Peer Mentoring.

                    • Bystander education is an approach that shifts the traditional focus away from the victim and the perpetrator to the surrounding community, which includes students, staff and faculty. One Choice invites participants to reassess their role in sexual misconduct prevention, encourages participants to believe that their contribution matters, and engages participants in education that will expand their knowledge base and skill set to take action.

                      • Have something to say about what's been going on in society today? Join Student Government Association, Housing & Residence Life, Student Advocacy, and Multicultural Student Affairs for this month's Speak Up: SGA Edition Discussions during Creed Week! We will open the floor to dialogue about matters of significance as identified by SGA and students who attend the disucssion series. "Speak Up" provides students  a safe environment conducive to appropriate expressions of thoughts and feelings about news and current events, while also exploring the impacts of these events from various perspectives.
